General Notes:

Johann was a cooper in Niederseebach, Bas Rhin, Alsace, France, just a mile south of Oberseebach. He came to America with his wife and all of his children in 1732 on the ship "Pennsylvania Merchant". They settled in Berks County, Pennsylvania.

[Johann] Heinrich Christ of Hatten arrived on the Pennsylvania Merchant in 1732*. He appears on the ship's list as Christ(en), and came with wife Anna Christ, and children Margaret, Magdalena, Jerich, Hendrick, Eva, Catharine, Salme, Maria. These are the same children listed elsewhere for Johann Heinrich Christ.

From the records of the Hatten Lutheran Church, Bas Rhin, Alsace, France:

"HATTEN LUTHERAN KB. Johann Heinrich Christ (Sr.), single cooper, born in Switzerland, Canton Bern, two hours from Araw (CH-5000 Aarau, AG), son of the late Johann Heinrich Christ, former citizen at Niederseebach (67160 Wissenbourg), in the Baronie Fleckenstein, married January 8, 1715 to Anna Gotz, daugher of the late Johann Jacob Gotz. Married here in Hatten.

It is not know whether the children were born in Hatten or in nearby Niederseebach. They lived in Niederseebach.
