Civil War: Company "I", 17th Regiment, Pennsylvania Calvary. Enrolled on September 15, 1862 in Philadelphia.

 

Mary and Francis were married under the names Marium and Franciscum. witnesses to their marriage were: Anthony Felix, and Maria Hauser

 

Francis died June 8, 1900 of appendicitis, contributing cause Nephritis. He was sick about a week. He died at St. Joseph's Hospital and was buried in Gethsemane Cemetery, Reading, Pennsylvania.

 

Married. on September 14,1865 as Franciscum/s and Marium in St. Paul's Catholic Church, Reading, Pa.

 

Witnesses to the marriage were Anthony Felix and Maria Hauser (grandparents of Francis) Francis and Mary lived at 923 N. 11th St., Reading. Pa.

Francis J. Hauser

Son of Michael and Barbara Anna (Christ) Hauser

Francis J. Hauser residing at 923 North 11th died at 10:30a.m. today of kidney trouble at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was ailing for some time and had been at the institution since Wednesday. He was a florist and was in business on Center Avenue for a number of years. He was born in Reading and was a soldier during the Civil War, serving as sergeant in Co. K. 17th U.S. Cavalry. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church and a son of Barbara and the late Michael Hauser Besides his widow Mary, he is survived by these children: George F, F. Mary, Michael W., Francis V., Rosa H.,at home, Raymond P. of Rhode Island, Herbert W. of Reading, PA.  Mrs Willard and Anna Catharine wife of Geo. Ganter of Reading, PA. Besides these brothers and sisters: Theodore of Reading, Mary wife of Peter Cullen and Mrs. David Steckler of Reading and Mrs. Barbara Moyer(Mayer) of Wisconsin.

Hauser, Francis J.

The funeral of Francis J. Hauser took place from his residence 923 North 11th at 8 a.m.. Services were conducted at St. Joseph's Catholic church by Rev. Father Flannagan. The remains lay in a black cloth covered Stein casket with silver trimmings and plate and were attired in a black suit with patent leather slippers. Interment in Catholic Cemetery. Funeral Director George H. Felix.

Francis married Mary V. VOGEL, daughter of Felix F. VOGEL and Margaret SWENK, on September 14, 1865 in St. Paul's Catholic church in Reading, Pennsylvania (Mary V. VOGEL was born on July 31, 1843. She died on March 17, 1923 and was buried in Gethsemane Cemetery, Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania).
