Bernard's parents, Bernard F. Hunter and Catherine (Ganter) Hunter, moved from Detroit, Michigan when he was about 5 years old to Reading, Pennsylvania. They lived there until Bernard was about 14 years old, at the time of his mother's death. Soon after his wife's death Bernard F. HUNTER moved his family back to Romulus, Michigan and his mother's farm.
