Mrs. Nancy Miller who resides
with her Son, J. W. Miller
and wife on South Phillips Street
has reached her 93rd milestone.
A charming and happy birthday party was in evidence at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. J. W. Miller, at the corner of Phillips and Thirteenth streets,
Friday.
The occasion was the ninety third birthday anniversary of the honored
one, who in this instance proved to be Mrs. Nancy Miller. Encircled among a group of friends, the aged lady proved to be most happy indeed and the scene was one which is good to look upon. Those present were the following: Mr. and Mrs. Lew Osborne and two daughters, Gladys and Ada; Mrs. Nan Phillips, Mrs. W. I. Wise; Emery Johnson, of Winona Lake; Mrs. (Dr.) Guck, a granddaughter, and John Timbrook, a grandson, both of Hudson, Ind. The conventional birthday dinner was disposed of in the usual manner and the aged lady, who is one of the few who reach the 93rd milestone on life’s ever-changing highway, was the recipient of many beautiful birthday cards. Ever since the death of her husband, Rev. Joseph Miller, eighteen years ago, Mrs. Miller has made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Mary Rutan, of Hudson, who joined the father in the spirit world last fall. At present, Mrs. Miller is living with her son, J. W. Miller, and wife, of South Phillip street in this city. She is enjoying splendid health for one of her years and it is hoped by those present as well as by many who were less fortunate, that the one in whose honor the party was given, may enjoy several more birthdays, equally as happy as the one just passed. |
