On this eighteenth day of April AD 1872 before me an alderman of the city of Reading in and for said county, personally appeared Rev Jacob Frey whom I certify to be respectable and entitled to credit and who on being duly sworn according to Law, says that he is the officiating clergyman of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Reading, Pa and as such, has possession of the Records of said church, that the above is a true and correct copy of said record of the marriage celebrated by the Rev Henry A Muhlenberg between Thomas Christ and Mary Rees. That the same is entered upon said record in the proper hand writing of the said Henry A Muhlenberg who was at the time the officiating clergyman in said congregation and that he has no interest in this claim.
