Felix was born in
Germany about 1820. There he grew to manhood. He emigrated to America, and from New York
City, where he had landed, removed to Lehigh county, Pennsylvania, and thence to Reading.
Felix was engaged in the contracting business for the Philadelphia & Reading
Company, a sawmill, sawing wood for fuel for the engines. Mr. Vogel died at
the age of fifty years (about 1870). His wife lived until seventy-three. Both were
interred in Reading. Their children were: William,
Mary (wife of
Francis
Hauser), John, Joseph, Charles, Adam, Annie, and
Francis F.
