Some say
Michael arrived in America in 1709 about the age of 25, being born in Germany.
Other records indicate that he was born in America in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Records show Michael was married in Germantown in 1710 to Catherine SCHRAUGER.
By 1717 he had moved his family to Perkiomen Township in Philadelphia County,
just north of Norristown, Pennsylvania. In 1717
he was listed as one of the Trustees for the Skippack Mennonite Church where he
later preached. He was a preacher at Skippack Mennonite Meetings, the second oldest in America
with Germantown being the oldest. Michael was also a weaver and a farmer.
